Q? DOES MY FILM NEED TO BE A WORLD PREMIER?

A. No, although we would love to have a world premier, we don’t turn any film away.

 

Q? HOW CAN I SUBMIT MY FILM?

A. You can submit via FilmFreeway or Withoutabox

 

Q? WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE FOR THE YOUNG ADULT CATEGORY?

A. The young adult is from K-12 grade. The filmmaker must provide proof of school enrollment when selected.

 

Q? IF MY FILM GETS ACCEPTED CAN IIFF PROJECT DIGITALLY?

A. Yes, Blu-Ray & DVD. We prefer to have one of each just in case.

 

Q? IS THERE A SCREENPLAY COMPETITION AT THE FESTIVAL?

A. Yes, we have a screenplay competition.

 

Q? WHEN WILL I FIND OUT IF MY FILM WAS SELECTED?

A. We will announce all winners on our Facebook page on Jan 10th. IIFF Facebook Page

 

Q? DO I NEED TO GET CLEARANCE FOR MY MUSIC AND STOCK FOOTAGE?

A. It is your responsibility to clear all right to music and or stock footage in your film before we can screen it. We do not check to make sure that you have cleared these materials at any point during the process, nor will we be held responsible for any damages of uncleared materials in your film.

 

Q? HOW MANY FILMS CAN I SUBMIT?

A. You may submit as many films as you’d like, A separate application needs to be filed out for each entry. 

 

Q? WHERE IS IRVINE?

A. Irvine is located 45 miles south of Hollywood. The future home of the Orange County Great Park (the largest park in the U.S.).

 

Q? DO YOU ACCEPT INTERNATIONAL FILMS?

A. Yes, we would love to have films from all over the world. All Non- English films must have English subtitles.

 

Q? WHAT FORMAT DO I SUBMIT?

A. Send one DVD-R NTSC only. Make sure the copy that you’re submitting works. DO NOT send us any other format or your original masters. The DVD copies will not be returned.

 

Q? WHAT INFORMATION DO I PROVIDE ON THE SCREENER?

A. Your name, phone, email, category, running time. If you are submitting through Withoutabox.com please include your number. Don’t use paper labels because they peel off and cause problems. A permanent marker will work. DVD’s with text or graphics printed directly on the surface are also acceptable.

 

Q? CAN I SUBMIT MY FILM AS A ROUGH CUT?

A. YES, Your film needs to be at least close to complete for us to be able to make a decision. If your film is selected it must be complete before (DEC 30TH)

 

Q? IF MY FILM IS NOT SELECTED, CAN I SPEAK WITH A MEMBER OF THE TEAM AND GET SOME FEEDBACK?

A. Unfortunately, due to the large volume of submissions, we won’t be able to give individual feedback.
